About
About
Facade is a thesis project that examines how individuals construct, modify, and present their identities across different social and digital contexts. Drawing from Erving Goffman’s notion of identity as performance, the project explores how we curate multiple personae—each shaped by social expectations, technology, and data-driven interactions. As a designer, I was interested in visualizing how these layers of identity could be made tangible. Through speculative branding and product design, Facade proposes a world where people can “adorn” their identities—revealing or concealing aspects of the self as desired. The project raises questions about authenticity, self-presentation, and the boundaries between the real and the imagined in contemporary digital culture.
